Former BK Prostejov star point guard Eugene Lawrence (184-G-86, college: St.John's) has signed on to play the 2011-12 Mattoni NBL season with CEZ Nymburk. Nymburk, who are fresh off their eighth-consecutive NBL title, have signed the 25-year old Lawrence to spearhead their campaign to continue their unprecedented run of dominance in the league. The 25-year old Lawrence is coming off of his best season as a pro, being named to the Eurobasket.com All-Czech Rep. League 1st Team -11 after guiding Prostejov to their second consecutive Finals appearance. On the season, the former St. John's point guard averaged 10.6 points, 3.2 rebounds, 5.4 assists (#2 in the NBL) and 1.5 steals while shooting 48.8% from the field and 33.1% from three in 43 games. He raised his scoring average to 13.3ppg during the EuroChallenge contests.
