An elite wing scorer, Devondrick is a fantastic shooter who is also an extremely dangerous off the dribble scorer. Featuring a fast release and zero wasted mechanics, his outside jumper not only stretches the defense, but opens up an off-the-dribble game that features a deadly pull-up jump shot where is able to stop from speed, rise and remain balanced, and get off a quick release. Another dimension to his shooting game is his ability to move without the ball, come off a screen, square up and get off the release with a defender flying at him. Off the dribble he can be both explosive with with a fast first-step, yet is poised, deliberate and decisive in attacking off the dribble, never forcing his drive action, but always finding a way into the paint. Is able to absorb contact and draw fouls. In addition to the pull-up jump shot, he has an effective floater and running jumper, where he’ll hang in the air to create space as other in-between scoring tools when his path to the rim is blocked. Defensively, he possesses impressive lateral quickness and great ability in being able to shut down the driving angle of the ball handler, force the player certain directions and contest shots.
